Why quit?
No reason to if you're still enjoying it, I guess.
Corruption exists everywhere, however you want to dress it up. If you want to truly avoid it, drop out of life. Or, don't let something else be added to the list of things robbed from you. Talk of corruption existed way before this weekend, so one game doesn't change a thing.
It's not just the corruption. The ever spiralling money has left me jaded for a long time. It's no fun any more. I know who the top 3 or 4 will be. Not the order maybe but the teams with the most money will rise to the top. And we're one of them so we'll be up there, but at least we earned our money. The cheating is just the cherry on top of the turd of dirty money and cheating which has spoiled a sport I once loved.
Sad really![]()
Of course but when the team you support are winning, it makes it that bit more bearable. Unfortunatley, we're stuck with a team, manager and club that leave us in limbo, frustrated at absolutely everything. We've been no more dishonourable than the oil clubs given how we overcharge and the corrupt billionaires that actually own our club. Just varying degrees of treachery. You have to find the pleasure in the sport wherever you can otherwise you may as well just turn your back for good because things aren't going to change for the better anytime soon.

I hate to tell you - but you know that government you have so much faith in? The legal profession? The business world? All of it? All rigged matey. So what are you going to do, give up everything? With footie and sport in general at least there's a few good bits left. Like when Diaby kicked Terry in the face, remember that? Legend that Diaby bloke, to the fans as well as the doctors.
It's a laugh - that's why everyone sticks around.

I don't have faith in the government
I don't have that much faith in any of those things you mention actually.
But the point is sport is supposed to be different, sport is supposed to be...well, sporting. May the best man or team win.
We lose to Chelsea with 11 players then fine, well played them. But that shit yesterday. Nah, I can't see any fun in that.
I guess there are still some good moments but it's getting increasingly hard to care about any of it.
You'd care about it if we were winning and playing the sort of football we saw in Wenger's early years. Just like, I suppose, the plastic chavs derive some sort of ongoing enjoyment from the antics of their plastic team. When you're winning everything looks different.
Of course this leads us back to the usual discussion, why aren't we winning? It's not just slimy chav cheats and bent refs.
