And it finished 0-0. Absolute dogshit.

Klopp's decision to rest the majority of the squad has resulted in two replays and two extra games.

He's taking a leaf out of L'Idiot's book and making life as hard as he can manage to.

3 days after a League Cup semi which went the full distance and 3 days before we play the team who is top of the table, of course he's going to play a weakened side. In the first replay he played near-enough the same young side, and I'm sure he'll do the same in the next one so it makes no real difference anyway. And it's not like our "best eleven" are guaranteed wins anyway.

This is like the Cold War now. Managers huddled over computers, can't play him, he can play, he can play for 38.9 minutes provided the pitch rating is 7.3 or lower. All this energy stuff is insane now that everyone is doing it. You can gain an advantage when you're the only one doing it, but when everyone is doing it then it descends into the shite we're looking at, 22 players haring around at 100mph in The Best League in the World™

I reckon the first manager to chuck all that stuff in the bin and instead go for a settled squad that learns how to play together, knows who is cover for who and plays the preferred first eleven as much as possible will surge ahead of the pack in time. Focus on football rather than athleticism. We made 9 changes for our cup game. Crazy to expect the team to play with any sort of consistency when you wreck it like that.
