I can't see that happening after all these years, tearing up the modern Wenger training manual. That's a huge shift in mentality in a very short space of time, made worse by the shortened pre-season with the Euro's. So buying a player whose success is built on directness and pace doesn't make any sense on the surface. Unless he has actually gone bonkers.

Or gone back to what actually won him trophies. It's not like he hasn't presided over teams that actually give it a go.

Not sure whether to be happy with this or not. There is no doubting how brilliant Vardy was last season but we play such a different style of football. If we stick to our style I cant see him making much impact when there are 6 defenders in front of him.

If we go back to the football we used to play then it could be an exciting move.

Maybe the vardy signing will be one of two strikers coming in? Get him in, he can hit the ground running, he knows the league and can strike a ball better than Giroud/Feo/Welbeck. Then sign one of these younger strikers that others have mentioned on this board and that gives them a season or two to settle in. Higuain is being mooted, but he will be 50-60mil, and is of a similar age, and would take time to adjust. Benz and RM has never really excited me, he is ok, but not for the money they would want for him.
