Yes it's cheap in today's market, but it's 20 million for a 29 year old reliant on his pace with just one good season under his belt, on that basis it's not that cheap, just like Wellbeck wasn't cheap.

This club has a history of making the wrong signings in the last decade, rather than solving problem areas it looks for a cheap fix, it's the wrong approach.

Plenty of players who have had one good PL season and never repeated it and at his age it's very possible this is the case and realistically how long does he have left?

To suggest he is totally reliant on pace is to say he hasn't scored 24 league goals this season....same tally as augero. If we won the league next season, who would actually argue against it?

People keep repeatedly saying 'only 1 good season' but he hasn't had enough seasons in the top flight to do much more. He's actually been brilliant for several seasons it just so happens he started pretty low down and passed every test along the way. Can we really only buy a striker we're going to get 10 years out of?

I'll be honest I don't think I've ever paid much attention to him. What are his strengths? Defending or going forward?

He hasn't been injured much recently, he just hasn't played because Monreal has been outstanding.

He can be really frustrating in terms of his productivity in the final third, but he's technically really consistent, good in the air and is quick, fast and has pace.

I think he'd be a really good signing for Liverpool and he'd probably be praised in all corners because he'd actually be playing consistently. I'd be disappointed to lose a solid backup player, unless we're after a new LB.
