I've never heard that to be honest, but if it is true what are we doing trying to sign him, pretty stupid really, either he's making mugs out of us or we're making mugs out of ourselves, neither scenario is great.
Reminds me of when we tried to sign Baptista from Seville after he insisted he wasn't leave Spain and Benzema last season (if you believe it) after he said he wasn't leaving, with both we carried on with the charade all summer despite knowing we had no chance.
Suarez is a messy one. I think he'd have signed without fail if we'd have gone for him whilst at Ajax but it was always going to be difficult getting him from Liverpool. I think that situation was our fault more than the player not wanting a move. We smacked them in the face with a cheeky bid and they told us to fuck off. If we were serious about that move we'd have not been so cheeky or at least upped the bid when it looked like it they weren't budging.
Arsene Wenger, the only football manager that got paid 8 million quid to do nothing but sit on his arse..
Yes I agree mainly because footballers seem to want to play in the PL, but when we tried at Liverpool I think he knew he could do better than us so wasn't too fussed either way, a year later he was off to Barca a move no footballer turns down due to their reputation and drive to succeed.
Yes we were to blame, we tried to be clever and made ourselves look really petty in the process.
