The US might turn up and surprise Argentina too

Their defender John Brooks might miss the game though. We should sign him imo

What happens when you increase the number of teams/incorporate a format where even 3rd place can go through for the cash. Shit teams can park the bus and hope for a flukey win

Fitting really. Because that's how European football is now. There's so much money floating around the football has become a secondary factor. Managers too. Most are negative, boring farts. They don't look to win, the set up to avoid losing. And that's bound to have a profoundly negative impact on the game.

The stat of goals after the 87th minute lends itself to that.

Let's hope the knockout stages provide some entertainment because it's been pretty shit so far.

USA v Argentina is on at 2am.

The other semi-final will be on at 2am tomorrow (well Thursday). Colombia v Chile.

Shame there's no chance of watching those. The final won't be on until 1am either.

Surely this is Messi's time to finally claim a title with Argentina?

Nope. Time for Alexis to cinch another title for Chile.
