It is very low but he was running into his last year on his contract so it was either £5m then and there or nothing a year later. So no, it wasn't a stupid decision (financially).

There's obviously an argument we should have done more to make him stay, namely by giving him games. Every week Ox flops it does make you wonder. If it wasn't for the homegrown rules I think we might have done more to hold on to Gnabry.

Personally I don't feel like it's much of a loss. I know a lot of people rate him here but I don't really see what's so special about him. He'll become a good player but I doubt he'll be a £40m signing for Real/Barca.
