Ahead of the home game with Stoke on Sunday, Wenger admitted he would like to give the Dutchman a breather but has struggled to find an opportunity.

"It is a difficult decision to make at the moment," said the manager. "But I will have to do it.

"On Monday I decide always to rest him and on Friday I play him again.

"I don't know about Sunday. We will assess everybody on Saturday morning, then I'll make the decision on the day. But I will have to rotate a little bit.

League games are a must, surely. We have a league cup game at home in mid-week so he can be benched for that...possibly play Park or Gervinho upfront. And in Europe we've played the 2 most difficult away games and are in decent shape. We have a lot of home games coming up. He can manage a game a week right now, can't he? It's only October.

He talks about rotating...obviously Jenkinson won't play. I doubt Rosicky will play so we're looking at Ramsey to play. I'd play Benayoun or Oxo instead of Walcott.

I don't think we can rest Van Persie for this game but if we do, Gervinho up front sounds like our best bet.

These guys are professionals and are paid very handsomely for that. I understand needing a rest towards the later part of the season but these guys just started the freaking seson and already our players are tired?!

We are not hearing about burnout among any other clubs players yet... WTF is happening with our players? They play the least games (among top teams), get injured the most and still need rest. RVP has rested enough since he joined us.. time for him to MTFU!
