First, Chelsea aren't that good. But we're not either. Wenger should have subbed Santos after 10 mins. That's the worst defensive performance from an individual I've seen in years. Most of the time it would have been better if he'd left the ball and just stayed out of the game. He's a lazy bastard too, dumping on Kos and the midfielders to cover his arse because he can't be arsed. Or else he's not fit, in which case why is he playing. He must not be allowed to come out for the second half. The stupid, stupid goal before HT has probably killed us but if we could tighten up at the back we might have enough to outscore this average Chav team. Djourou deserves a little credit for stabilising after a frightening start. It's still heart in mouth every time the ball is near him though. Merts lack of mobility has been notable too. Kos is looking our best defender and that says a hell of a lot and it's all bad.

Vermaelan will not fully fix our problem but he will definitely reduce the big gap in defence.
