No. Has he been flung into a team in crisis and helped steady a ship that was on the verge of capsizing? Yes. So do we keep saying he's shite and all he can do is cross a ball? Well we could I suppose.

1945: At long last, Gervinho scores his first goal of the finals. And he does it the hard way, running from inside his own half after beating Berthe on the halfway line. That said, there was no challenge on the Ivorian forward as he ran 55 yards or so before curling into the far corner from a tight angle. Great finish, great goal - but terrible defending.
