It's not even really an experience or youth thing. It's the strange, misguided belief that misfiring, under-achieving, bordering on completely worthless players like Arshavin, Walcott, Chamakh and Bendtner, Denilson and Diaby in past seasons will suddenly come good after dozens upon dozens of games offering nothing but harm to the team.
