So, Federer vs Nadal on at about 8:30 our time tomorrow.![]()
Syn's chancing days.
The standard of the top guys is ridiculous in recent years. The top three have raised the bar in their own way every year. Even though Murray hasn't won a Slam, his consistency is outstanding. If he doesn't win any, he'd be one of the best not to. If he was playing in the post-Sampras, pre-Federer pub team era, he'd have notched up quite a few. Hewitt, Safin and Roddick have won Slams, but I'd argue Murray is a better player than they were in their prime (well certainly in the case of Roddick). And Djokovic has earned his position. Everything was already in place for him, he just improved his mentality slightly and made sure the physical side wasn't a liability anymore.
Azarenka reaches her first grand slam final by beating Clijsters 6-4 1-6 6-3.
Azarenka was definitely the better player, Clijsters was far too erratic.
Sharapova beats Kvitova 6-2 3-6 6-4.
Kvitova. Far too many errors. Had about 300 chances to break, but her conversion rate was worse than Murray's usually is. No consistency in the match at all; brutal winners followed by wild groundstrokes throughout.
If Azarenka stays solid and doesn't have a breakdown, she should win the final.
Everyone else will be deaf by the end of that match.
