Spanish midfielder
Cesc Fabregas wants to join Barcelona this summer, according to Arsenal team-mate
Bacary Sagna.
Fabregas came through the Barca youth ranks before joining Arsenal as 16-year-old in 2003 and he has been linked with a return to his former side for the last three seasons.
The Arsenal captain, 24, was very close to leaving Emirates Stadium last summer and this year Sagna believes the Catalan's desire to return home is greater than ever.
"I can say it's true that Cesc wants to go to Barca," Sagna told France's
RMC Radio. "Compared to last year, it's more likely Cesc will leave.
"He wants to return to his country, his hometown, his family. He wants to play for one of the best teams in the world, Barcelona, and that's understandable."
"At the moment, however, he is still Arsenal's captain."
While Sagna believes Fabregas may leave Arsenal, the French defender is hopeful compatriot
Samir Nasri will stay at Arsenal. The Les Bleus star has been heavily linked with a move to Premier League rivals Manchester United.
"Samir is happy at Arsenal, but I don't know what the best thing is for his career," Sagna said. "He has been one of the best players in the team this season and he is one of the symbols of this team. I hope to find him there when we return for (pre-season) training."
