Hazard would never come here anyway, we don't compete in the market for players like him, too expensive, too high profile. If he joins the Spuds it will be a further nail in the coffin IMHO, just shows the difference in ambition between the two clubs.

Are you sure? It's not as if Wenger has ever shied away from tiny players. He's no Mons Pubis in that regard.
I do remember him saying that we already had Fabregas in that position at the time.
Maybe it's just a myth, I'm having trouble finding quotes. Having Fabregas was no excuse - Fabregas was always going to leave at some point.
And we'd probably have sold Modric by now, too.
Every player leaves at some point.
Modric signed in 2008. At that point Fabregas wouldn't leave for another three years.
Many teams will have an interest in Hazard. I can't imagine Spurs could win out on the wages front.
