Yeah but that's them, annual bottlers. What I mean is the striker argument could be made redundant by January and (hopefully?) before we play them again and their new signings have had time to bed in. Personally I think they have lost a lot of creativity from that team, if they can't get the ball to Soldado it doesn't really matter if he's RvP or Chamakh.

Ffs Cripps and bunsco are in agreement.
GW.
Thats not the point, you're making him out to be a world class player with 20+ goals a season, thats not the truth. The truth is, he's an average player with an average of 15 goals a season through out his career. Giroud is still young enough to be able to develop under Wenger, Soldado is 28 and now he's gonna use 1-2 years to adapt to premier league by then he'll be 30 and not worth anything. Do you still rather want him, than Giroud?
Yes.
Proven players are what we need.
Fair enough through out his career he might be averaging 15 a season but that includes his younger years where he probably scored a few goals a season. I'm looking at the more recent season which is relevant and in the past 5 seasons, he's got 20+ in all of them playing for clubs where you wouldn't expect many chances.
Probably not all league goals but a goals a goal regardless of what cup it's in.
We'll see in time. The spuds midfield is at least competitive if not better than ours apparently, so we'll see who ends up with more goals in the season.
The Spuds spent £100m, we spent £32m net this summer, and I'd rather sign world class players than 5-6 good ones. We already have some decent players, but its the world class ones who can make the vital difference.
