This will certainly be it for his career though you'd think.

I think he will end up retiring from the game now, and probably work on the coaching/pundit side of things. This came out of the blue, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't want his family to worry about it again.
Lilian Thuram had a problem and ended up retiring , although he was much older.
It's seemingly a heart condition out of the blue, I'll be very surprised if he's advised to play again.
