Have to say even though he's very frustrating on the transfer front i love how he toys with the media at times, you can tell he's quite pleased with himself in general at the moment because he wouldn't have come out with the UFO quip he would have just flat out denied that Draxler was at our training camp.
I like when Wenger is in a good mood because a) it means Arsenal are doing well and b) he's much more fun to watch and listen to in press conferences.
I doubt Wenger's even interested in Draxler. He might have been when he thought Draxler would cost £20m but he was scared off last summer when Schalke asked for double that and he bought Ozil instead.
I like the fact that Mertesacker seems the natural leader in the group.....on and off the field with his debt collecting duties. There are players who would only take it upon themselves once made the official captain, but he just seems a natural leader. It's not all up in peoples faces and screaming, frothing at the mouth and spitting at them, so I think the group genuinely both respect and love him.
That would be my worry too....
I thought it was interesting when asked about talented German players (many months ago I believe) Wenger mentioned a handful of exceptional German players which included Draxler.... He needn't of mentioned Draxler at all, such is the current quantity of talented Germans and considering Draxler's age but he did. He didn't mention Reus interestingly. Now clearly he thinks Reus is a good player to say the least, a short of mentioning 20 German names he had to stop somewhere, but I did think it was indicative of him particularly rating Draxlerand having him in mind.
I know we paid a (then) record for Pennant, but I think Wenger isn't all that keen on paying huge sums for young players (though he often favours them) and I think that is what eventually put him off Goetze.

NOTE: The location of this post has been moved and the thread title (which was previously Wenger is Leaving) has been manipulated by a notorious pro-Wenger moderator. What was previously a message that contained no profanity and made a comment on a real life event has now been manipulated by a deliberately provocative title. An old and crude propaganda and censorship technique.
If thats the case then the fans should be told. We were told at the start of this year that with the Emirates now paid for we are able to compete in the transfer market to bring success. 20-30 mill a year is not going to do that, we could have spent that during stadium repayments. If we don't spend on a top quality striker/winger the goals will start to dry up becuase we become to predictable. Without Walcotts pace we will have to rely on goals from midfield, like Santi got on Sat which took an hour & that was against Fulham. We simply won't score enough against the stronger teams.
Chelsea have done a deal with Luke Shaw ( according to twitter lol ) .
There's this going round, which apparently SS deleted straight afterwards:
Bloody hell, if it does happen, he must cost in the region of around £25m+
