I think Mane was an exceptional player, without doubt almost as important to them as Salah…absolutely distraught that we never signed him in 2016.
But I think he was on the wane, it was the right time to get rid of him and I do think they brought in a player in Diaz who has the potential to be just as good
The problem for Liverpool is an ageing midfield. That plus Trent Alexander Arnold has to be one of the most overrated players there is.
Right time to sell I guess given his age and the fact he wanted a new challenge but I think his contribution last season was the main reason why they had a shot at the title.
Agree with the midfield being weak though. Seems like it’s an area that’s been neglected because of how direct their attack has been along with their fullbacks. Almost like the midfield is bypassed.
