What I love is that there is this near certainty that whatever United do they will be in the top three....whatever we say about the disaster of our pre-season couldn't be much worse than theirs.
How many games did they even win in pre-season and they played quite a few...they were absolutely trounced at home to Sevilla last night....yes a testimonial game but still.
They have much better players though, they nabbed our best player after all and won the title at a canter last season. Moyes isn't as good as Ferguson no doubt about that but with their squad compared to other teams they should comfortably be in the top 3.
Nani, Wellbeck, Young, Cleverley, Evans, Smalling, Jones?....are these the much better players to which you refer. I think Ferguson cut and run at exactly the right time...without doubt a club in decline.
+ Carrick and Ferdinand who are well past their best
The annoying thing is if we had strengthened with the midfield signings and a striker we would have almost certainly finished above them this season.
To be honest it's not that stupid....look at the players i've mentioned in my previous post.... many of them are the players playing regularly for England and ensuring we are stuttering badly in our quest for qualification.
De Gea and Van Persie were the only United players of note last season...they won the title because of them and because they had the best manager ever to manage on these shores in charge of them
Subtract RVP goals and the new points total would mean they would have come 2nd or 3rd. He was clearly the difference between those two clubs.
On a seperate note:
Meanwhile arsneals squad for today looks like this...
Start: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs, Arteta, Wilshere, Ramsey, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Walcott, Podolski #AFCvMCFC
Bench: Fabianski, Jenkinson, Perez, Hayden, Zelalem, Cazorla, Giroud #AFCvMCFC
We have 7 subs. 1 of them doesn't belong to club (Perez) & another 2 won't play in the league this season. Only rosicky Diaby (lol), Monreal and Verm missing. /o\
They have Milner, we have Ramsey...their other millstone Gareth Barry has been left at home.
I swear if we sign Barry i'll torch the Emirates like it was the Reichstag in 1933
Oh, Sanogo, don't forget Sanogo.
