Valenciennes coach Daniel Sanchez remains hopeful of signing Arsenal teenager Ryo Miyaichi on loan for the rest of the season.
Miyaichi initially joined the Gunners 12 months ago before spending the second half of last season on loan at Dutch club Feyenoord.
The Japanese attacker was subsequently granted a work permit in the summer and he has made two substitute appearances in the Carling Cup for Arsenal this term.
Arsene Wenger revealed last month that he was weighing up whether to let the 19-year-old head out on loan again in order to build up his first-team experience.
A decision is still to be made, with Bolton Wanderers having been linked with a loan bid after Gunners midfielder Jack Wilshere previously benefited from a stint at the Reebok Stadium.
French side Valenciennes have held a long-standing interest in Miyaichi and Sanchez is waiting to see if a deal will be done before Tuesday's deadline.
Sanchez told the French media: "It will by Miyaichi or nothing."
