I thought he was amazing. My MoTM easily, disrupted their attacks, made several crucial interceptions and protected our defence very well despite Chesney trying his hardest to give them a goal.

The only minor problem that still concerns me about him is that I still think he's too short. Man Utd were launching a lot of long balls at our defence (cos that's their main form of attack these days despite spunking 210 million last year) and Coquelin wasn't able to head them away decisively all the time because he wasn't able to out jump Fellani or whichever other clogger was there. This meant that one of Merts or Kos usually had to come from the defence to deal with it which left a gap there ........... which if Man Utd were cleverer and better, could have been exploited.

Don't think it was a serious hamstring injury.

He was walking fine after the game when congratulating Welbeck and applauding the support; he would have been on crotches if it was a proper hamstring. It was probably a minor tweak or niggle and I reckon he'll be fine for next week.

And given that we had the likes of Theo and Ramsey on the bench there was no need to take any risks. Got to say with that substitution and Wenger also being wise enough to take off Hector when the Manc scum were trying to get him sent off, Wenger made some top draw substitutions yesterday.

spent all day yesterday wondering why on earth i was travelling to manchester as we always lose up there but my god was it worth it. We were outstanding. Pressured them into mistakes, pressured them into cheating and seeing the ref have enough balls to book them rather then give a penalty was great (was coninced he had given a penalty for januaj dive at first) \

Seeing welbeck score the winner and celebrate as well was just brilliant. I don't know how it came across on television but the 9000 away fans up there were loud. Its still ringing in my ears this morning.

    Rules of the game:
"If a defender starts holding an attacker outside the penalty area and continues holding him inside the penalty area, the referee must award a penalty kick."

Said it before but Michael Oliver is the best in England along with Clattenberg.

He rarely makes a blunder and isn't intimidated by the names or the crowd.

If that was Howard "Man Utd's number one fan" Webb we'd have lost that after he'd given them penalties for diving and sent of Santi for breathing.

The first Bellerin incident was probably a yellow but the second so called incident was ridiculous; he barely touched Young. Yes it probably was a foul but it wasn't worthy of a yellow card no matter how much the Mancs will howl and rage about it.

The ref is getting credit for not buckling under Utd's sustained diving and that's fair enough. But he failed to send off Fellaini for the elbow on Coquelin. If he'd applied the rules there then Utd's whole game plan would have been eliminated within the first few minutes. I hope the FA reviews this because it's so bloody obvious loobrush was sent out to target Coquelin. Can't be established without doubt but come on. First few minutes and the player with a broken nose gets an elbow in the nose from guess who. Why didn't the BBC show any replays? When there's blood don't they usually show the replay?

Apart from that, Fellaini committed more fouls in the first half than our team combined. He didn't get booked. He continued to foul through the second half and eventually picked up a card but way too little and too late. No wonder he is effective if he can foul with impunity.

There's also talk that Bellerin should have been sent off. Maybe so. Di Maria's stupidity probably saved him by distracting the ref. But then again, if the ref gives our legitimate penalty then Rojo should pick up a booking at least, maybe a red. He also fouled his way through the game but only picked up one card.

We created the better chances. Had more shots on target. Didn't foul persistently and refrained from the long ball that Utd preferred all night.

Utd don't have a leg to stand on. They were well beaten even though we didn't play to our full abilities.

Can you imagine Dowd reffing that game?

Even had we not won I’d still have been very happy with the way we played tonight, obviously the result was a rather nice bonus.

WE DID IT! We know this lot have it in them, Utd aren’t that good. The keep getting results but they are NOT that good. It was about time this lot stood up and showed what they can do in a game like this, and we did. Fantastic. Oh, and a shout out to the ref who made 2 excellent decisions after Utd dives, would have been so easy to give the home team the decision with the crowd baying for it.

Pretty much agree with you here except for the bit about result being a bonus.

This game was always about one thing: beating those vile cheating cunts on their own patch.

Way how we went about doing it was always going to be secondary, imho.
