missed bergkamp in there acutally. pires was a bit of a gamble though, he was doing well in france but unproven in england. it did take him a year to adapt, but worth the wait. gilberto is awesome

It's not just football though is it?
It's everything in life, the cost of living and money in general has risen for years.
I just don't see the point in singling out football for its ludicrous monetry dominance when it's just part of everyday life
Did you know Bergkamp was only the 3rd foreign player (excluding Welsh) we signed? First was Limpar, next was Jensen. Seems like only years ago.
