No, in fairness it's understandable why people were initially confused. The whole idea of the system is to give instant feedback on whether the ball crossed the line or not. So when the first thing that pops up is NO GOAL, that's not ideal. They should have highlighted the second incident where the ball actually crossed the line. The purpose of the system is not to determine who scored, only whether the ball has crossed the line resulting in a goal. I think the operator tried to be too helpful and fucked it up.
However, it's certainly not understandable if people are confused a day later.

I think the technology is 'triggered' whenever the ball is anywhere near the line. The two passages of play would have constituted that, so the replays probably kicked in automatically and with the appropriate 'No Goal'/'Goal' legends. As I said in the thread - the first replay clearly showed the ball hitting the post - the second replay was always going to follow.
