utterly absurd if he's serving a three match ban

I'd have to go a long way to find something i've given less thought to recently than this match.

Xhaka was aware of the Xhaka rule, or he should have been. If he didn't want to get banned then he should have signed for a different team. No sympathy for him at all.

It's a lot more enjoyable to watch when you know we are going to win at the end of it. At the time, that first half sat alongside the 8-2 and 6-1 first half spankings we got from Utd. Possibly even worse given it was Reading. No idea how we managed to come back from that. Cracking game though.

Xhaka probably wouldn't have played in this match anyway, so it's a good one to use up his ban on.

Not the point, it's utterly ridiculous that someone should serve a three match ban for that.

Maybe, but he is, so it's a good game for him to be banned for.

It is ludicrous he was banned for 3 games but yes, given that he has been it's good that this is one of them.

Captain Paul McShane said "the shackles are off" his side for the game.

The 30-year-old defender said cup competitions were "secondary" for the promotion-chasing Royals this season, but added: "That makes Tuesday night's match a bonus game.

"We'll go and enjoy the game, and everything is possible."

This sounds dangerously close to suggesting that Reading are going to come and play football, that's dangerous talk he should stop that.

Or kick the shit out of us, which is more likely I think.
