On one hand i thought at the time Amorim was overhyped, on the other hand i think now as i did then that the problem isn’t the coach it’s both the players and the club itself. It’s about where it was in the mid 70s where it got relegated and had been for a while living off fumes from past glories.
Although different ages, we are both old enough to know that in football especially all glory is fleeting and dominance doesn’t last forever, take Real Madrid who have been the dominant Champions League team for almost 30 years. That followed a 30 year drought in that competition.
The fact that both of these sides are to say the least a bit ropey, should make for an interesting game

I often wonder how much of it is negotiating a severance package. I honestly think we’d have sacked Arteta around Christmas time of 2020 if we hadn’t decided it would cost too much.
United have the same creative deficits we do, I think like us it’s helped them to have a player go more direct (or in their case two players Mbeumo and Cunha) the same way i think we are going to miss Madueke’s directness.
