No idea why I watched the highlights but I did anyway. Pretty dreadful stuff all round, much like the turgid displays we put on for most of last season where the result was a toss of a coin. Sometimes we ride out luck and scrape narrow wins, other times our luck runs out like it did today.

The ref was shit and it might have been a different result had he not wrongly awarded the 2nd penalty, but even if we won nothing would have changed how I felt about the current situation, all today did was amplify it further.

Watching the second pen again, that was a really disgraceful decision, compounded by the fact Kos gets the first yellow for a great tackle. Linesman was shit too. Even the second yellow for Kos wasn't legitimate because the ref had already decided challenges like that were fine by letting Villa away with them.

No get out of jail for Wenger who has not prepared his squad and therefore is negligent, but the ref was very, very shit nonetheless.

It wasn't they showed an angle on MOTD where his 2nd leg took out Agbonlahor's other leg before he touched the ball, it was a penalty albeit a hard one to call.

2nd Challenge he was pretty late with even if he didn't catch him properly. In short Koscielny being Koscielny and letting us down when we need him the most.

We did it to ourselves and got done by a hungrier side.

I thought the 2nd yellow was harsh. Hardly much if any contact but to not send their pubber off for the same thing smacks of ref shitness.

2nd yellow was a bit harsh, but he'd been booked and goes in a bit reckless thus giving the ref a decision to make, stupid thing to do to be honest.

As for the yellows for Villa that's fair enough poor decision.

Awful performance deserved to lose, Koscielny going in when he'd already been booked was a shocker, what a tw*t.

2nd penalty also right, as Koscielny took his back leg out before touching the ball.

3rd goal everyone was past the half way line shocker.

All in all no complaints, key decisions proved to be correct and we lost because we are sh*t.

I didn't expect to lose to Villa to be honest (it was at home and I thought we'd win but it would be a hard earned win), I expected us to have a tough start to the season though due to the lack of quality.

I thought we'd beat Villa. Can't believe how shit we were. I think 50/50 odds in Turkey is generous in our favour. We could very well have pushed this asset stripping past the limit and be going into the Europa cup this year.
