That was beyond a hammering. Utter degradation on top of a comprehensive pillaging. It should have been 8-1 at least and it would have been deserved.
As good as Holland were, this seemed like one of Manchester United's defeats this season, where the end of a team who got all the decisions and privileges during their dark reign was highlighted in blinding, humiliating technicolor for all to see.
This isn't a knee-jerk reaction, but some of those Spain players were only playing on reputation and have been out of form for varying periods and deserve to be usurped by players who are either younger or have had influential season just gone. Casillas, Pique, Alonso, Xavi, Torres, Fabregas. They're either error-prone, out of form and many have had in-and-out playing time due to numerous factors. It's summed up by Pepe Reina still somehow being part of the squad. He's an absolute joke of a goalkeeper. Is he picked as a mascot?

The problem I have with Spain is that I just don't like them.
I like the odd player individually but I don't think they're a team I'll look back on fondly. That's not to say I don't think they are/have been a ridiculously good team, mind.
