This is the fist time during Wenger's time that we haven't had a world class striker at the club. I'm sure he's going to go all out for one. I just think its going to be the summer as no club sells their world class striker in Jan (although we would).
I reckon from the whispers he's sounded out Cavani and Villa and if he can't get either then he won't bother.
Dangerous game as I really doing think we are good enough to get 4th and not getting Champs Lge will make it much more difficult to attract a top striker.
Lets be honest, with the squad we have we'll be good enough to finish 4th, I cant see the Spuds and Evertonians sustaining a challenge for 4th place, the spuds are short up front and Evertons squad is not as stong as their position suggest. So ******* realises that as do the board so why spend money if they don't have to. Scrimp and save is their motto.
I really dont think striker is the issue - we need a DM and a world class CB. If you look at the PL top scorers chart Cazorla (8), Giroud (8) and Wallcot (10) are all in there - I dont think any other team has 3 players in the list. The issue is that we are shocking at holding on to leads and not conceding sloppy goals! Wenger doesn't want to sign players, he wants to bring kids through and n the worst case scenario sign bargain basement players, we have Walcott, Giroud, Podolski and Gervinho so a striker isn't even on his radar, don't you know the guy by now?

It's like I said earlier in the month, a handful of wins took the pressure off him and allowed him to sign noone, at one point in December he was really pressure to go out and spend, but now it's all died down as expected.
Yeah maybe but Man U's defence is pretty dodgy and they have no DM's in their squad and are doing pretty well due to a lethal striker.
The big difference between us and the top teams is the quality in our final third. We're miles behind Man U and City when it comes to firepower. It's all about the firepower in the Prem. Man U's dodgy defence and midfield will be exposed in Europe but they'll cruise to the Prem trophy.
Well Wenger's had a world class striker in the 15yrs he's been here so history suggests he'll sign another one (if he sticks around).
With every Gervinho he's signed in the last few years there's always been a nugget like Nasri.
You have this idea that Wenger chooses to shop in the bargain bin whereas I have the idea that he's forced to. Why you think any manager would choose to shop in the bargain bin is beyond me.
