Yep watching that. And Sweden. And the UK. My take on this is we're doing a pretty good job. So far. Fingers crossed, hope it lasts. I don't know how realistic their (necessarily horrific) target of 20,000 actually is, but given the circumstances and if they can limit it to that, it would be remarkable.

Something has gone very, very wrong in Italy and Spain though. These are dramatic outliers and suggest something far more significant than the virus itself is at work.

Same principle works for all browsers but Chrome is easiest.

    When paywall pops up:

Right click on greyed out background or pay dialog and select Inspect.

    The browser inspector will open.

Hit the delete key to delete the element you have selected (usually the paywall element)

You may have to right click around on other elements to remove those too.

Then, in the inspector window, scroll to the top of the source code and look for the <html> element. Click on that and look in the sub-pane to the right which lists all the styles. Look for a style rule named "overflow" or "overflow-y". Deselect it so you can start scrolling down the now unprotected page.

You may also need to check the <body> element and remove the overflow rule from there too.

Now install browser plugins called AdBlocker Plus and Disconnect.

This will get rid of their ads and start directly harming their income.

You can use the techniques above to zap their ad-block detecting bullshit too.

Also, use a VPN and that denies them data, so they can't make money that way either.

And if you see any of their "journalists" in the street, whip it out and piss on them (unless they are on fire).

    Awesome

Say what you like about Wenger, you didn’t get pandemics like this when he was here...

    Yeah. I’m not loving it.
I have no real reason to go to the office but I enjoy the social element of work and I’m missing that.
A few of us have set up a “coffee break” meetings a day so we can touch base and check in on each other.
One colleague is running virtual quiz nights.
Technology is helping a bit in all this.

i've been WFH since 2005 - i love it, people get on my nerves if i'm forced to be around them all the time, I don't mind working but i don't really like office culture, jackets over chairs, gossip, office politics, pointless meetings, teambuilding bullshit etc

my work's holding up ATM so this whole thing's not having any effect on me workwise and i can carry on working just the way i was minus going to the odd meeting (which at least always have a real point to them) - i realise i'm lucky in that respect but hey i made the decision to WFH and have my own set up, even though i earn less than i would in a bigger company, so I've a right to feel smug right now IMO

    Not a fan at all.

I find WFH quite demotivating and I’m a bit of a sucker for routine, so to have that all thrown out of sync isn’t great.
