I was watching it with my son and he's still excited by the whole thing so I play along. But I did suggest we try to find a DVD of a complete 80s or 90s season and watch the drivers battle the cars and do the refuelling and fight through the rain storms and all that marvellous suff. On the other hand, I thought the marshals did very well with the crash today. No red flag. No emergency UN committee meeting. Keep the cars rolling, get the race started one lap after clearing the track. Good stuff. It was almost like the days of real F1 had returned.
Seems like Belgium, of all places, did their best to host a F1 event but F1 wasn't up to the invitation. Somehow, after the most overtakes in the season last year, F1 managed to damp it down to a non-event. It's what they do.
Get some men back into the sport. Proper men.
