Pool are paying 85k a week of the wage bill apparently - that would have made him the highest earner on our squad.

which is fine on its own, however, if as reported the loan fee is 5 million, the sell on is 15, plus his 115k week wages, its close to a 25 million pound deal. i think thats what has put wenger off, hopefully because he has a target in mind who he can get for less, or at least permnanently
Well if we don't bring in an alternative, we're going to look fairly daft for not paying up for this guy.
Rightly or wrongly Wenger only buys value.
£5m loan fee and £85k per week for a player who played 11 games last year, has no Prem experience and will fuck off at the end of the season doesn't represent value to him.
Of course it could blow up in his face if he turns out to be a star at Liverpool and we're left with Ramsey and Diaby in the middle :shudder:
I get the feeling Wenger will only ever pay over the odds if he feels the player is super super super quality i.e the next Messi or Ronaldo. He must think the Ox is pretty damn good as he paid a fortune for him.
If Bendtner, Arshavin, Squillachi and Park go we could easily afford to bring in another 3-4.
The numbers will never add up for Wenger. We won't be able to bring in the type of players he wants on such a small budget. This is why I find it silly to see the club let go of Song so easily knowing that we'll have to pay a lot more in wages to a player of similar quality. The wage structure will always restrict us.
