He's probably the most necessary quick fix they needed and will be a worth the money if he can become a steady presence at the back. Their defenders are either inconsistent or injury-prone or Kolo.

Bertrand Is Boss, do you see Lovren being first choice alongside Squirtle or Sakho? Or Kolo. I'm assuming Agger will probably go and Illori will be fourth choice.

In terms of talent and even instant impact, I think Markovic is by far their best signing. He looked impressive every time he played for Benfica in Europe and seems to be a really hard worker as well. Surprising that Chelsea didn't decide to hoard him too.

I can't see Lovren not being first choice. From there, who knows. I like Sakho but he needs a calm head next to him. I don't know if that is Lovren but it certainly isn't Skrtel who needs to concentrate on his own game before worrying about anyone else. Inconsistent ain't the word. There is some fuss about footed-ness which is totally blown out of proportion.

Agger is rumoured to be off anyway, along with maybe Lucas. Kolo is Kolo. Only he knows what is happening. Ilori I simply don't know. On loan again maybe. Would be nice if we actually played some of these young randomers once in a while. Maybe Kelly might finally make a charge for a place. He's well overdue an injury-free season.

I'm pretty excited about Markovic for the same reason. I don't quite get the "I haven't heard of him therefore he's shit £20m lol" bullshit argument. It'd probably help if you watched some games once in a while. Lallana I can see why we'd want him. Lambert is dirt cheap and it's a DREAM MOVE, so again I'm relaxed about it. Emre Sharn is highly rated by those who watch German football so again, chuck him in. The thing that excites me most though is our sheer pace. And power. And speed. And pace. Velocity.

Another couple of decent signings and I'll be pretty pleased. There is some talk we'll go after Jay Rodriguez in January. *That training ground photo * Sign Bertrand and I'm torching Melwood though. It'd be a fucking travesty.
