Is Jenkinson really that bad?....i remember at the start of the 2012/2013 season when Sagna was still recovering from his broken leg where he was immense, ever since then he he has never been able to consistently get a place in the side.

I'm thinking by "bid" they mean the transfer fee, not Jenkinson's wages. If he's out then I guess it's not that much of a surprise he wants to keep on playing and wanting to stay in London shouldn't automatically be taken as a sign of treachery or an indicator of mercenary tendencies.

No, of course not. In fact he's done really well to make such a big step up. For me he's more than adequate as cover. He comes from the lower leagues, he didn't cost much money, he was a classic "who" when he joined and I guess a lot of hard to shift assumptions have been based on that. David Luiz has a fifty mill fee attached so even when he plays like a complete cunt he's hot property. Would rather have Jenks, but if he's off then good luck to him. he did a job while he was here and he treated the club with respect.

He's not 'that' bad but he's not that good either. Doesn't offer much going forward and he's below average defensively, I honestly think that a champions league club is a step too high for him. Honestly I think it would be much better for his career if he moves on to a club where he'll get regular playing time, If he stays here he'll never be anything more than a back-up.
I really don't understand the hate directed at Jenkinson. No-one is advocating starting him, but he is passable cover. And even if you disagree with that point, it is bizarre that a Gooner from a family of generations of Gooners should be the subject of the crap I've read in this thread.

Jenkinson is a pretty average player, don't have any hate towards him but he's not really PL material, he must have thought it was a joke when Arsenal came in and plucked him out of Charlton reserves.
As much as he seems a good honest lad who does his job to the best of his ability, I don't feel too sorry for any of these footballers, they all earn a shedload of money and have a pretty nice life, they earn more in a week than most earn in a year.
