Well, we are supposed to have pulled out at 2m fee and 70k a week, which is 5.64m.

I'm assuming Liverpool are topping that. It's been reported that 5m is the fee. in any case, more than 6mil in all, for a seasons loan? Seems pretty expensive to me....

I think it's more likely Liverpool were just more willing to pay a higher percentage of his wages, as the BBC say. Surprised what Sahin wants isn't the main consideration but I suppose that's Real Madrid for you.

I know it's a pretty spurious argument, but if he helps us get back/close to the CL then it would be more than worth it.

And it seems there's no option to buy at the end anyway, though that's not to say should Madrid we couldn't have convinced him to join us over the year.
