    Your comment was about putting to bed arguments about Wenger being forced into selling players.
    That's part of it along with Wenger spending money foolishly. We can't say he hasn't had anything to work with because you can see our wage bill and the price tags on certain players. Hamstrung to an extent but it doesn't excuse wasting money. If I sell my Ferrari and get good money for it, it doesn't mean I downgrade to a Peugeot and a bunch of secondhand clapped out motors with the profit made from the sold Ferrari.

    That analogy doesn't work. Wenger doesn't get the money for sales, the board do. So if they get 10 million profit amd give him one million then he has no choice but to buy a downgrade because that's all he can. You are assuming that all money,made from sales goes to wengers transfer fund when it's clear they don't

    That's not true because made a profit of £40m last year and spent £50m. You can't make out as if Wenger is having to sell players and only getting to spend 10% of the profit. That's not true at all. Check the records.

    Even if we have to downgrade in some cases, it doesn't have to be that low. Another silly analogy, you sell two Ferrari's why not buy a Porsche and a BMW with the profit instead? Why downgrade to buying a fleet of cheap models?

    I've heard it all before. 'We're giving Arsene a warchest!' 'Arsene will have all the money he wants to spend this summer' '£70milion to spend this year' . It shocks me that anyone still believes this crap. In reality 90% of the money will come from player sales which will bring us right back to square one.

    I think in admitting that we can now finally sign a player like Rooney and pay the fee and wages is proof that we now have more money than we had previously

    thats not to say we havent had any because we have. we just have more now.

    and what he's doing is completely isolating wenger by putting all the responsibility on him. if we dont spend, we know the reason why.

    IMHO The transfer policy of the last 5 years has been that damaging to the reputation of our club that we face a real battle to lure these '2nd tier' players we are linked with.

    The above is assuming the money is there and I remain very skeptical that;

    a) it is

    or

    b) if it is, is arsene really willing to spend it

    Actions speak louder than words, Arsene, Gazidis and Dick Law better get moving and start spending because we have gaping holes all over the squad.
