He'll probaby just think he can play Nwaneri/Trossard/Sterling for 90+ mins in every game for the rest of the season, because no-one ever gets injured when they're overplayed right?

He hasn’t ruled out entering the Free Transfer market

    Which could be interesting

Wissam Ben Yedder has a good scoring record, he’s also a convicted sex abuser

There’s the very appropriately named Isaac Success (Played for Watford)

Kevin Gameiro….he'd have been great signing ten years ago

If we are feeling reminiscent, we can try Lucas Perez or Carlos Vela again

Personally I’m up for the 2025 equivalent of Wycombe Wanderers, where they advertised for a striker on teletext

My passing is actually alright but I can't run for toffees and my shooting is...erratic at best - so I guess I'd fit right in

I can't defend or control the ball in tight spaces, basically am at my best at just running around, so I'm a like-for-like replacement for Zin

Will we manage to scrape something up from the street in time for the next game though?

The free agent window can be difficult. Most clubs don't do much in this window (out of self respect). A lot of the players are already committed to other things like rehab clinics and bit roles on midnight podcasts. Can't see them wanting to come here unless they are guaranteed a starting spot.

Could also disrupt the summer transfer window. If we're spotted measuring up roadkill for a kit it might send the wrong message to potential transfer targets and comedians short of material.

Also these things just aren't that easy (this excuse works in any transfer window).

Also we have Merino who can play there.

I mean they wouldn't actually want to get paid, would they? We'll do something if we can but the last point might be the deal breaker. What's the point of calling themselves free agents if we have to pay them?

We're kicking off at just after noon tomorrow and still no match officials announced, at least not on the PL web site.

EDIT: Actually, on a different page on their site ()think Herbert mentioned this now I think about it):

Referee: Sam Barrott. Assistants: Tim Wood, Wade Smith. Fourth official: Oliver Langford. VAR: Paul Tierney. Assistant VAR: Natalie Aspinall.

Some bird is doing the VAR.
