Chelsea would have won the CL. You know, the biggest and most prestigious competition a club could win?

I am thinking about scoring one over 'our calibre' of clubs like Spurs, Newcastle, Everton, Liverpool... not the ones which actually win something.

Our Sri Lankan friend has had a shocker here.

Yes, there's no conflict here.

a) Chelsea win the CL and we have to watch Cole et al cavorting round with joy and Chelsea fans lording it over us forever that they've bought won the Champions League. OK, Spurs fall out of the CL into the Europa but that is the thinnest of silver linings.

b) Bayern win, we get to at Chelsea and at Spurs next year when they crash out of the CL (and yes, I know they did well the last time they were in it. Maybe they will again. But are they going to win it? Are they balls.

If the spuds qualify for the CL, 'Arry will bring in his Championship Manager wishlist. He'll get some top players in and they'll be a stronger side than the one that finished 1 point behind us. Regardless of whether Chelsea qualify for the CL, they can afford to get top names in and they make sure they are competitive next year. Just putting it out there!
