Arsenal now just a nursery club for the big boys

I NEVER thought I would say this, but Arsenal are now a nursery club for footballs big boys a sickening kick in the old marble halls.

Cesc Fabregas saying his long-awaited goodbye on his way home to Barcelona just confirms what I have seen coming for some time.

The Gunners are now goners when it comes to being part of the games rich set.

All of the great years they had with Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira and Emmanuel Petit have long gone.

It was a club people wanted to play for now its a club that gets raided for its best players.
I am a huge fan of their style and what Arsene Wenger has done for the place I love the Emirates as a stadium.

But now Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea have moved to another level. And in Europe you have Barcelona, Real Madrid, the Milan clubs and even Paris St Germain coming up and leaving them behind.

    Fallen

Put simply, Arsenal are not members of that smaller and smaller group of clubs that can win things both domestically or in the Champions League.

The best teams around have the money and they have also got their eyes on Arsenals {players its not the other way round anymore.

It is now a breeding ground for the rich and famous to come along and take their pick.
And the gap is getting bigger year after year.

In the Premier League, they have been in the {driving seat and fallen away they only went close last time {because others slipped up.

Arsenal are now in the group that hangs on. It is the way it is going and it will only get worse. Whos the next to go? And who can you {attract if thats your status in the game?

Samir Nasri is on his way, even Robin van Persie must be {looking and wondering. They have bought Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, but is that to bring him through and sell him?

I think they are now a club that cant attract the top earners like their rivals. They HAVE to sign them and {develop them. And you did not see that {happening years ago.

When Arsenal were great they had a team with older players, {average ages in the 29 to 30 bracket.
Since those days they have gone for younger blood and have still got talent, but no trophies.
Fabregas has been one of the best Premier League midfielders and he is {leaving without a full {trophy cabinet.
I dont care what Wenger says in public, in private he must be frustrated. He knows how hard it will be to find the right players.

This is going to be a hard year for him. He needs to come out and say if he has the {money if they can pay the wages. They say they have, but with Fabregas leaving you have to wonder.

Its not even that great a move for Fabregas. I can see him being on the bench more often than not with Barcas {midfield a big change for him from Arsenal where he was the King of Spain.

So maybe nobody wins. But the long-term result is definite Arsenal have lost their place in footballs food chain and wont get it back in a hurry.

Don't think the Article is correct but it seems like were heading that way. This year the fans need honesty from the board and AW.

We all know what the goal of the club is and that's to finish in the top 4. We're not in any shape to challenge for let alone win the league and expectations should be in line with that. Yesterday was a good point for us.

If you put it that way then it was a good away point at a hard place.

Goal of the money men perhaps, not the fans.

So might be good enough for them, but not for us.
