there is one slight problem with his statement according to young guns blog, its that the met police have confirmed the charge is for failing to stop for police. hmmm

He probably just missed a place that they considered a convenient and safe place to stop when trying to find somewhere that HE considered a safe place to stop.

The 29-year-old was arrested last month just a couple of miles from the club's training ground.
The Brazilian was apprehended by officers who noticed a car - believed to be a Maserati GranTurismo - being allegedly driven at around 130mph by a driver who failed to stop.
He is due to appear before magistrates later this month, and could be jailed for up to two years if his case goes to Crown Court and he is convicted.
Santos, who is understood to own several expensive cars, joined the Gunners last year from Turkish side Fenerbahce.
A Scotland Yard spokeswoman confirmed: 'Andre Santos, 29, of East Finchley, north London, has been charged with dangerous driving and driving without due care and attention on August 17th this year in Mill Hill, north west London.'
