October was a storming month for Arsenal and it ended in style with that 5-3 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
It started in disappointing fashion with a North London derby defeat at White Hart Lane, but fortunes quickly began to change for Arsène Wenger's side.
Sunderland were dispatched at Emirates Stadium thanks to Robin van Persie's brace and the Gunners took home three vital points in Marseille thanks to Aaron Ramsey's last-gasp winner.
Van Persie was a key man against Stoke as he came off the bench to fire two goals to sink the Potters, adding to Gervinho's opener on the day.
Carling Cup victory against Bolton followed but the crowning glory of October arrived at Stamford Bridge four days later. Arsenal secured a stunning 5-3 victory with Van Persie's hat-trick augmented by goals from Andre Santos and Theo Walcott.
There are plenty of contenders for our October Player of the Month award. Van Persie's seven goals during the month stand him in good stead while the creativity of Ramsey in midfield caught the eye. The outstanding defensive displays of Laurent Koscielny also deserve a mention.
