Your sentiments couldn't be any further from the truth.
I'm not slagging off anyone, but some posters act as though they are Wenger's bloody thought processes, whilst some simply refuse to acknowledge that the course the Board want to chart is in direct conflict with Wenger's 'principles'.
I suspected that there was going to be trouble the moment Ivan made utterances about the Club's improved financial standings and intent to spend big this transfer window. It just isn't Wenger's way and he seems incapable of adapting to the new football order. Not that I can slate him for standing up for what he believes, but ffs dont hold back the Club because of what you deem to be right or wrong. Step aside if you aren't willing to change.
Wenger has never believed in Marquee signings, especially those that have a considerable price tag attached to them - proof being that he's never made one in the 17 years he's been here. Our transfer record is a what.....a staggering 15 mil, right? Even the shower from up the road piss on us where transfers are concerned.
We've seen his way, which worked wonders over a decade ago, but now the game has changed. You either get with the program or stand the fuck down.
Yeah that's a lot of money to spend, as good as he is he's one player, the money from this will allow them to buy 4 top quality players on top of what they have......we'll be in deep sh*t tbh if they do, because our squad is down to the bare bones and our manager has deluded himself into thinking it's championship challenging.
Got to agree with this, other than CL football we have nothing, we have no top players, we don't spend, we haven't won anything for years and won't be for some time at this rate, it just makes more sense to go to a club who can challenge for silverware otherwise he may as well stay at Liverpool (they've at least spent money this summer).
Wright is a dick.
I don't think he is personally, wears his heart on his sleeve, loves Arsenal and just wants to see them at the top again.
He's questioned the direction of the club for many a year and let's face it he's been right. His opinion in this article is kinda correct, we have CL football yes but a player like Suarez must be wanting to win trophies rather than get 4th every season.
He is not the sharpest knife in the cutlery tray.
But there are points in that article which are plain to see. I cannot see what Suarez would get out of us other than a few Group games (if we even qualify for that) against a bunch of nothing teams and a last 16 exit.
Well isn't the point without better quality players, we probably won't get higher than third/fourth or past the last 16? The funny thing is, talking like Wright does is just saying 'we have our place and that's where we'll occupy for the forseeable' when that's exactly what the club has been criticised for doing.
I couldn't care what Suarez's motivation for joining would be, just get it done.
