I've read Gervinho created most of the chances and scored in Ivory Coast's 5-0 win over Rwanda.

At the moment Cameroon are some way away from being one of the top two runners-up. Second to last in fact. They need to win and hope all the other teams either draw or lose.

Cameroon have Congo DR next, who are their closest challengers in their group. It'll take quite a lot of circumstances for Cameroon to make it, basically.

EMMANUEL FRIMPONG has turned his back on England in favour of representing Ghana.

The Arsenal midfielder met with the president of the Black Stars' football association, Kwesi Nyantakyi, after the team played Brazil in a friendly at Craven Cottage last night.

Nyantakyi said: "Yesterday we met him after the game at Fulham at a hotel.

"He wants to play for Ghana. We have to apply to FIFA now — send them the documentation and wait.

"It is out of my hands how long they will take but with my experience I expect no longer than three months and it will probably be shorter than that.

"I am very happy for this because he is a good player."

Frimpong was born in Ghana but moved to North London as a youngster and has represented England at youth level.

He was called up to the England Under-21 squad last month but was forced to withdraw with a foot injury.

But Frimpong seemed to confirm he will represent the country of his birth in a post on his Twitter account.

He said: "I have done my part for the love of the country. Now let's wait and see the outcome..."
