I really hope he joins us. I could give a F less about the type of person he is. He is a good footballer and our team has a severe lack of that. Add to that, I think he can shank some of the foreign douche bags in the squad and make them either give a damn or die!

Footballistally I think it makes a lot of sense for us:
- We can move Song into CB and at least not be absolutely doomed, if as expected, AW does not sign a CB. I'd take Song over Squid and 'end of season DJ' anyday!
- Barton is a better DM than Song
- And the most important, Barton is a GHEL!

JB has talent as a player. Unfortunately, he also has talent as a violent thug with no self control - as Arseblog says, "there’s a difference between being hard and being a thug". We need backbone, but we need Barton like a hole in the head.The other story yesterday was the fact Joey Barton was released on a free by Newcastle and immediately linked with us. I don’t think there’s any chance of that happening, to be honest, I suspect online editors know that putting Arsenal in a story means you get more clicks, but I would rather sign Joey Deacon that Joey Barton.
For all those who would espouse the ‘qualities’ he might bring, there’s a difference between being hard and being a thug. Getting stuck in is one thing, punching people (even if it is Morten Gamst Pedersen) another. Maybe we do lack a bit of character, but signing a bloke who will only add to ‘Arsene’s red card’ shame because he is incapable of controlling himself and his hair trigger temper is not the answer. And above all else his signing would surely be a sign of how standards have fallen, both in terms of the type of person we sign and the quality of the player. He’s decent but hardly the kind of signing that you’d be happy with to replace Cesc, is it? He’ll end up at Sp*rs, probably, which is far and away the best place for him.

Football wise yes it would be a good move in a sense that he gets stuck in and is a physical player, however the guy is a thug and I wouldn't want him anywhere near the club.
IMO he shouldn't even be still in football, he's the type of person that beats the cr*p out of people when out for no reason...the guy is a tw*t.
I just hope one day he picks a fight with the wrong guy and gets what's coming to him.
