20 points off top, and a load of extra cash available. They really are running out of excuses not to invest in the team.

How much do we lose in cash if we fail to get top four?
It's better to burn out, than to fade away.

probably need to sell podolski in the summer, get him off the wage bill at 130k a week to play the invisible man on the pitch.
With Arshavin gone, with hopefully Chamakh, Bendtner, Denilson, Squillaci gone......will free up a tremendous amount of money

Like I said on the other thread - IMO Wenget will still be governed by (his perceived) value for money rather than getting the best player for the team - so I remain a bit skeptical.

Yep, I do too. Leopards and spots and all that. Whilst I'm not advocating Arsene spends all his money in the first shop he walks into I am hoping he's going to be a lot more proactive and aggressive in the market.

No we don't want "Messi", that's totally unrealistic, but we should now be operating in the 2nd tier market, 20million pound player type market and not routing around the "Bargain Bucket" in Ligue One.

This money will allow us to step up to bitterly haggling in Oxfam

Good point. Yes, we all know that the football market is inflated - but this is the reality if we want to compete.

Well, I'm convinced we'll be signing Jovetic, so that will smash our transfer record to bits.

That won't be the end of it, either.
