fucking hell lets cut the bollocks out and start paying some release clauses and get some fucking players in.
jackson martinez - 34m. just do it
Geoffrey Kondogbia 8m - just do it
fellaini - 23m - just fucking do it
thats 65m odd, less than our supposed war chest!
we need to stop dithering and just pay the fucking fee for gods sake!
we can still bid for players like damiao, hulk, gustavo, cesar etc but got those 3 fuckers in now, stop fucking around and just pay the fee!!!
we gna end up with darren bent arent we!
The Fellaini release clause expired so I don't think we were ever interested in him.
The only positive I can take is that it's made IG look like a complete tool. The backlash from fans will be huge if (when) we have another poor season, and I don't think Wenger can be offered a new contract.
this summer has made gazidis posistion untenable. he can't stay on after those lies to us, again.
though i cant wait for his next Q&A session, suspect it might be a while though![]()
It's pure incompetence. There are no excuses for what's happened so far this summer, even clubs worse off than us have a strategy in place and make the most of the resources they have. Why is it that every other club seems to get their business done yet for us signing players appears to be the hardest task in the world? The saddest part is that no one will be held accountable.
Deadline day move for Benteke awaits. Might throw one in for Fellaini too if Man Utd don't bid.
We needed a lot better.
I actually don't think he's lied this time round.
He may have been incompetent, by failing to get Wenger to deliver, or fucking up negotiations (assuming we had any negotiations to make).
But Wenger is most at fault here. Not necessarily because he's an idiot or bad person, moreso that he has whimped out of spending money. He wants to work in football, yet he is too stubborn, too idealistic and too slow to work in todays market. A market where you get left behind very quickly, and a climate where you can't make a side on the cheap anymore.
But what really pins this on him, is the excuses he is making....no longer on behalf of the club, but on behalf of himself....and that is not something we should entertain. There is one thing defending his employer, but to make excuses to cover his own personal hesitant tendancies and moralistic crusade, shows a lack of class, IMO.
There is absolutely no reason whatsoever why we are left with a threadbare squad. The groundwork was done, and we battled to get to this position. Now we're going to be back where we started.
It's better to burn out, than to fade away.
Although unrealistic, I would argue that it is Wenger's position that has become untenable. He won't be fired of course, but I lay the blame solely on him. He calls the shots, and wouldn't accept a CEO telling him what to do. Which is why IG is there, a yes man.
I think IG's public quotes were designed to leverage pressure on Wenger to spend, but the stubborn git just won't compromise his (outdated) ideology.
Honestly...I don't particularly rate Michu that much higher if at all than Giroud. He'll score goals in PL...but will be found wanting at the highest level.
Spurs signed a Striker who starts for Spain..yet we get linked with one who can't even make their squad at a time when they have their weakest set of forwards in years.
Dzeko I wouldn't mind at all, I like him and think he's an upgrade on Giroud...but he lacks pace.
We've backed ourselves in a corner now, not only have we not strengthened but we've reduced the numbers in the squad that we have no choice but to buy now and we know Uncle Arsene loves a bargain.
Effectively we'll be replacing deadwood with deadwood.
Oh what a mess...
