In this day and age 130k a week is nothing. If we want these top players, then pay the rates. Gazidis said we can afford to pay a few players 250k a week without problems, so just fucking do it. 14 million amd we are missing out? Nope, there's no excuse for that, complete fuck up

If Wenget doesn't feel a player is worth it he just won't pay it. While there is nothing inherently wrong with that stance, it makes you question his eye for a player given the amount of expensive deadwood racked up over the past few years.

The wage bill is lighter now so in theory there's no reason why we can't pay a premium. Again it boils down to him not being comfortable with this sort of money because IMO he is blinded by his outlook on the game.

He feels, I believe, a moral obligation toward the club, in that he wrestles with his conscience on whether he is spending the clubs money wisely. This, combined with his ego and belief that his players will come good, mean that it's a tough ask to get him to spend.

It's also his most vaulable excuse, should he not deliver. That we are out gunned in the money stakes.

Now that is not there, I think he's struggling to take the plunge.

I can honestly see good things and improvement from all over the place, from the current squad. Theo, AOC, Ramsey, Giroud....I think will all have good seasons if injury free. But.

We need two good squadies in defence.

    And two worldies in attack.

£131K per week? Sounds wrong or crazy. That's probably full of clauses like winning the CL, being voted world player of the year. But even if it isn't there's no way the board and manager are going to spend a whole summer cleaning up their wages mess and then wreck it again by paying a decent but hardly world beating player silly money. So I guess they are right in this respect and you have to question a player who wouldn't mind being relegated as long as he gets a barrow of cash. QPR mercenary mentality. Then you have all the other players crying to their agents and agitating for more cash.

Higuain was the deal. World class, wanted to come here and his wage demands appeared to be reasonable. Missing that one fucked everything else. Actually seeing Higuain turn up and put the shirt on would have been a much bigger message that pretending we are ready to spend £40mill on a player. Seems to me the Higuain transfer was achievable rather than a fairy story like Suarez.
