I think that's smart to stick him on a new deal so they have the option to cash in if they don't make the CL next year, and if they do make it, the contract would have paid for itself.
Jeez, they make me feel embarrassed on their behalf. No matter what happens at our club we can always, always say we are not the spuds.

Why don't Spurs just make him honour that instead of doubling his wages and offering him a get out next season?
