Let’s put it this way - if the deal doesn’t happen it will be because we can’t afford it, not because Aulas has set some arbitrary deadline that we didn’t meet.

Could be an eventful deadline for sure. I just hope we can shift all the rubbish and streamline the squad.

Thankfully, this should be the last year we have to put up with it - 90% of the problem players are out the door next summer whether they like it or not.

I’m sure I also read somewhere that the EPL are deferring this year’s rules on balancing accounts until next summer because of COVID, so that might give us some leeway to overspend this year knowing that a number of players will definitely be gone next summer?
oh I agree, the thing is our homegrown actually contribute to our team and are no worse than the garbage NHG we have all over the squad. Mikel has a massive rebuild on his hands, him & Edu are the focus now, they know what they have to do and I don’t care how they do it, no excuses.

Rashford, Martial and Greenwood are quality. I suppose he’s better cover than Ighalo but it seems like a signing for the sake of it to me.

We ain’t bringing anyone in. Can’t afford Partey or Aouar, and there’s no way the chavs will entertain Jorginho moving to Arsenal. Elneny it is then

If our squad stays as it is then I think we are finishing anywhere between 8th-12th. I’m not being dramatic here, it’s what I genuinely think given the improvement of certain teams in PL.

Also, surely we can’t have spent all summer pursuing players we can’t afford?

it's as much about Arteta's use of the squad as it is the quality - if he keeps playing Xhaka instead of Ceballos and Luiz instead of Gabriel and having players like Saka warming the bench then yes it's gonna be a shit season

    over to you Mikel...

Oh well, things are back to normal, we fail to take advantage off an opportunity for a sure fire top 4 finish. I was actually optimistic.

Back to not caring. Let's get ready to watch more Xhaka masterclass performances
