Great players very seldom make good pundits - no exception here.
Anyway, article reaffirms my thinking that Bale will be off to Madrid come next season.
The scum.![]()
He's doing a similar job to what Van Persie did last year. The question is always going to be whether he can keep it up. Some passes (like the one for Vertonghen on the weekend) will help just as much as the goals because top teams may not need to be carried by a selfish player - so he needs them to know he can be a team player when needed. He's in the top bracket of players. I'd be very surprised if Fergie wasn't interested. Bale will fetch a gigantic fee this summer. I'm thinking £40m+.
Bale to United would be the only thing that makes sense.
Unless he wants to join Anzhi.
I've always thought Bale was a shoe-in for United but I didn't anticipate he'd become the freak he is now, so whether Fergie can spend 40m+ on one player remains to be seen as Spurs will rinse anyone who comes in for him.
Valencia has become shit, Youngy was always shit and Nani is erratic, so a couple of them going frees up funds.
And £40m is the £25-30m of a few years ago so I'm not sure it would be a galling fee for Fergie. They've spent big on Rio, Wazza and Garcia before.
