As you know I do like De Bruyne a lot but he is a very horizontal and vertical player, he doesn't play with much spin or craft.

It's great passing but often in straight lines, a lot of the time that's enough but not always.

He's like a 'best of' of German efficiency crammed into one player. No tricks or dribbling like the great Brazilians or the technical prowess of the Spaniards.

But everything he does is at such a high level that it makes it everything he doesn't less important.
